Ahhhh, being a couple. Overrated and overdone here !

Being a couple obviously has it's ups and downs. If you go out for a nice dinner date, or something of that nature , you might be considerate and wear some clothes that help compliment your partner. You would like to match, not clash. Case in point, back in America, you show up to pick up your date, she is all made up and  wearing a lovely little number with those hot pumps you love so much. You are wearing a grease stained t-shirt and Levi's with holes in them. Oh yeah, and a pair of your best flip-flops.<----I know guys, "what's wrong with that ?" However, she might feel a tad upset and feel the two of you clash.

Well in Asia, I have plenty of "matching couples." But not in any other country like Korea. If you're lucky, you just see them wearing the same shirts. But for many, that is not enough, they go full on with shirt, pants, shoes and even purses. Yep Korean men like to carry around purses ( man-bags, man-purses,murses,man-sack...whatever you call it, it's still a purse.)

Notice how nice and loud they are also---------------------->
Unfortunately they missed out on the shoes. A minor faux pau in the fact that while they are both wearing chinos, they are not the same.

This one is from the airport. Now we have two perfect couples. shirts , pants and shoes...Oh no, the first couple have mismatched purses ! Second couple is OK as matching purses are undoubtedly in the backpack.

Now, you might be thinking, aww, " But I think it's cute."  Believe me, after seeing your 10,000th couple, it wears thin. Although this tends to taper off with married couples, I still see married couples with their children and the WHOLE FAM DAMILY is wearing matching clothes.

As I said early on, this happens all around Asia...not too much in the SE, some Chinese, a butt load of Japanese......And I am at a loss of words for something that is more than a "butt load" to describe Korea !

Well enough on the matching of Koreans. Quite possibly the reason behind it is so if they get separated from one another , They can easily look at what they are wearing and then look for their twin in the vast sea of black hair, black eyes, and tan skin. Ad to answer your question, yes, even after 5 years here, they all look the same. That is fine though and ironic as we all look the same to them. I look like...Bruce Willis, Vin Deisel, Stone Cold Steve Austin, well according to them at least.
